Creature of the night
I have lived in Gloucestershire my entire life and have been a member of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust since I was very young. Established in 1961, GWT now has 28,000 members, 500 volunteers and 60 nature reserves. It aims to improve spaces for nature and encourages people of all ages to be inspired by nature.
Each year Gloucester Wildlife trust holds it's annual photography competition, which has a junior category for children. I have entered for the last three years and have been awarded highly commended in both 2019 and 2020. This year I was proud to be awarded joint first place with my photograph: "Creature of the Night". I took this shot last year, whilst identifying a house spider late one night.I used a torch to see it's details in the dark as it crawled over my hand and this gave it the spooky lighting.
For my prize I won GWT gift vouchers and a slightly scary canvas print of my photo.
