My First Exhibition!

Hooray! Today I held my first photo exhibition, it was based around the theme of the relationship between flowers and honey bees. It was held at the Museum in the Park, Stroud. For the last four years I have belonged to Buzz Club which is a local group where children can learn to look after bees and understand their importance. Each session we get to put on our bee keepers suit and open up the hive to check on the health of the bees and monitor their food stores.

This year I have been taking photographs of the honey bees and the flowers they visit in the walled garden where their hive is situated. Buzz Club Stroud is working with the charity Bees for Development to enable children in Ghana to set up and care for their own bee hives in order to earn a much needed income. I sold 38 of my photo cards today and I am going to donate 30p from each card to Buzz Club, Ghana.
