Toodle Pip Plastic Straw We don't want you any more!

On Sunday I was at Get Grubby Gang and we learnt about the problems that plastic in the oceans is creating for animals and the environment. We watched a presentation about a turtle that had tried to eat a plastic straw and ended up with it stuck up it's nose. The turtle was caught by divers and it took them more than 5 minutes to remove the whole length of the straw from the turtle's nostril.

At Get Grubby Gang we started a campaign to encourage local cafes and pubs to consider swapping to paper straws or no straws at all if they currently give customers plastic straws in their drinks. We made posters that cafes and pubs can display. In the Easter holidays we are going to go around cafes in Stroud to share our campaign.
